Hair extensions. We love them, but have you noticed lately your hair isn't holding up like it use to? Here at CRŪ, we do extensive quality testing on each product we carry; which includes looking at different hair extension lines under a microscope (I know, we are geeks at heart).
Below you will find helpful systems to help ensure your hair extensions last you and your client! Winter is especially crucial to be following these protocols.
Education
Education is key with your clients. Due to the pandemic, sourcing hair has been increasingly more challenging and the price has been driven up.
The only way it can be 100% replicable is if it comes from source. It is not manufactured, that is why you get the variant in hair from bundle to bundle. Purchasing hair at a certain price point will need more home care vs a higher end bundle. Thoroughly explaining this to your client will help them understand how important home care is and protect your reputation.
Let's just say Beyonce spent 145k on her single donor extensions with an organic diet. Kim Kardashian is known to spend around 12k for hers!

Color Wow Dream Coat
Color Wow's Dream Coat has kept the integrity of extensions for our CRŪ team. We HIGHLY recommend you have your client start ASAP after your install. This is found online and has been seen at Kevin Ray.
Suggested use:
When using the Color Wow Dream Coat - only use that on the extensions and don’t mix products. You can use a heat protectant on natural hair! Spray the Color Wow liberally on the extensions (but away from the tape bond). You can use it everyday, but you will notice the curl won’t hold as much but it gives the extensions a beautiful loose curl. You can use the Dream Coat with every shampoo - it is heat activated!
Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse
Step One: Take extensions out and soak in apple cider vinegar for 30 minutes (avoid the bonds on tape-ins)
Step Two: Rinse with HOT HOT water
Step Three: Double shampoo (we've heard rumors that store brand shampoo works well to cleanse, but the verdict is still out for us)
We honestly don't have a specific number of times to do this, but with the water buildup we would almost suggest weekly (whether it's in salon or the client does it at home spraying the ends with apple cider vinegar)
